Strange Gatherings
A Jeffersonian Dinner Series

The Wrong Question

a Strange Gatherings dinner

Every field has the question everyone is racing to answer. And then there's the question that actually matters. The one that would reshape the field if anyone stopped long enough to ask it.

An intimate dinner for a small number of scientists, founders, and researchers working at the frontier of AI and scientific discovery. Invitation only.

The Premise

Billions are flowing into AI for science. The loudest question is obvious: how do we accelerate discovery? But the researchers and founders actually pushing the boundaries know something the funding announcements don't capture. The most important questions in their fields are the ones nobody is asking yet.

This is a dinner for people who hold those questions. The 2am questions. The ones that would redirect entire research programs if spoken aloud in the right room.

We are gathering a small group of exceptional people to trade those questions over a long meal. No panels, no pitches, no recordings. Just a table, a provocation, and the kind of conversation that only happens when the right people are in the same room.

About Strange Gatherings

Strange Gatherings is a private Jeffersonian dinner series hosted by Strange Ventures, a first check deep tech fund. We back technical founders working at the edges of what's possible.

We started this series because the best conversations we've had never happened at conferences. They happened at dinners. A robotics founder sitting next to a computational biologist. A materials scientist talking to someone building foundation models. Those are the rooms where people leave thinking differently about their own work.
